Advantages of Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Today’s customers have more options than ever when it comes to home decorating and design. Flooring is no exception, and advancements over the years have improved the durability and appearance of materials such as vinyl. Today’s vinyl floors are high-performance, economic, and aesthetically-pleasing. Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and luxury vinyl plank (LVP),  mimic real stone, ceramic, and wood floors but are often easier to install and maintain.

If you love the elegance and luxury of natural flooring materials, but want a product that will provide lasting durability and value, LVT and LVP might be the perfect options for you. These products are quickly replacing ceramic and laminate floating floors. The improvements in vinyl style and design make it difficult to tell the difference between real stone, ceramic, or wood and vinyl by sight alone. Even the texturing process has come so far that they feel like the real thing, although there are some key differences:

  • LVT is softer and warmer than real stone or ceramic, making it more comfortable to stand on for long periods of time, walk on, and even more pleasant for pets.
  • LVT uses caulk-like grout which doesn’t require sealing, and can be changed more easily than a ceramic floor.
  • LVP is easier to clean than real hardwood, and does not scratch as easily.
  • Walking on LVP is less noisy than on laminate flooring.

Vinyl flooring makes a practical and attractive choice for high-traffic rooms due to its durability and water resistance, but with the improvements in its texture and appearance, many chose vinyl today for any room of the home.
